Publication calendar

When each number is struck, and when it is not.

Crypto on Canton trades every day, so its official close is struck every day — weekends and holidays included. A tokenised equity, or a basket holding one, is struck at its home market's close on that market's trading days. What a holiday changes, and which tier can be reached, the calendar says in advance.

Crypto strike time: 16:00 Europe/London, adopted 28 September 2026 (the time of the CME CF Bitcoin Reference Rate; 15:00 UTC during British Summer Time, 16:00 UTC in winter). Crypto with no home market (CBTC, cETH) is struck once every calendar day, weekends included; the observation window is the 60 minutes ending at the strike (15:00–16:00 London). The table above is read from the desk’s schedule; records made before 28 September 2026 were struck at 16:00 UTC and stay as they were. An asset with a home market, such as a tokenised US equity or a basket holding one, is struck at that market’s close: 16:00 New York (20:00 UTC in US summer time, 21:00 UTC in winter) on NYSE trading days, with every leg of the basket priced at that same moment. The OFF-HOURS SIGNED fixings of Methodology §3A (specified, not built) are at 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00 UTC every day; in winter the 16:00 UTC slot coincides with the London strike and only the OFFICIAL is published. Methodology v1.0 is the sole governing methodology; the Rulebook v0.2 describes process only where it is consistent with it, and where any text differs, Methodology v1.0 governs.

What a holiday changes

DayUnderlying reference (e.g. CME CF BRR)What we publish
Weekday, venues openpublishedThe committee fixing (tier 0 until the four §6.4 conditions hold, then tier 1). If the committee does not reach K: tier 3 (reference × par) only with a licensed reference, of which there is none today; otherwise tier 4 (the prior committee value, flagged) or tier 5, NO FIXING
Weekendpublished (the CF rates are daily)same as a weekday; a venue whose book had no trades reports zero trades (and its quotes, if it quoted), and the fixing falls to the next input level, labelled
Reference administrator holidaynot publishedtier 3 unavailable (as it is today, with no licensed reference); tier 4 carries the prior committee fixing, flagged; tier 5 publishes a gap if nothing can be carried
Underlying market closed (tokenised equities)closedno OFFICIAL fixing until the underlying reopens; the last OFFICIAL value stays visible with its age. OFF-HOURS SIGNED fixings (specified, not built) cover the gap for margin use once attested

Notice periods you can plan around

  • Methodology change: a material change needs a public consultation of at least 30 days, then at least 30 days' notice before it takes effect (methodology §9). Non-material clarifications take effect on publication. Never retroactive: a fixing is read under the version in force at its strike.
  • Restatement: an error of at least 1 bp of the published value, or any error that changes a settlement obligation, is corrected within two business days (methodology §6). The draft rulebook’s same-day, 0.10 % test (§7.7) is superseded on this point: the Methodology prevails. A restatement needs the same K of N and leaves the original on the record.
  • Cessation: 60 calendar days' notice, enforced on-ledger (CessationNotice).
  • Oversight function: not constituted yet (methodology §9). The committee of seats is not an oversight function. Until one exists, the administrator performs the reviews, publishes them, and says that it does so. First annual review due by 30 September 2027.
  • Quarterly error table: published within 15 business days of quarter end, from the first quarter with a published fixing.
